Is this guy running to unseat a Republican?

If you're seriously interested, this is what the New York Times reported in July of 2007:

New York's 29th District (Southern Tier, Elmira, Corning; Rochester suburbs). Democrat Eric Massa, a longtime Navy member, has stepped up for another shot at unseating Republican Rep. John R. "Randy" Kuhl Jr. after their very close (51 percent to 49 percent) race in 2006. And so far, Massa is outpacing the two-term incumbent in fundraising. Massa raised $178,000 for the second quarter of 2007 and had $153,000 on hand on July 1. Kuhl pulled in $72,000 in the second quarter and has raised $188,000 so far this year for his re-election effort, ending the second quarter with $105,000 in cash on hand. A second Democratic hopeful, David Nachbar, had more receipts than either Massa or Kuhl; however, $200,000 of his $215,000 total came from a loan he made to his own campaign; Nachbar, a senior vice president at Bausch & Lomb, had $203,000 in cash for his campaign on July 1.

Thank you WW.

I will be sending some $$$$ today and exhort my fellow readers to contribute as well.

If you have money to burn, the race in Staten Island is much closer to home and certain to be more interesting.

Unseating Fossella (R.) -- whose had a string of bad luck the last few weeks -- should be extremely interesting.
