Salvador Dali is dead, so I would nominate Penn Jillette as someone with the requisite amount of intelligence and humor to bring to the job. His forthcoming stint on "Dancing with the Stars" will surely give him the requisite name recognition to compete for any political posititon in America.
No. I have not been to Barcelona. I went to the Dali show in Philadelphia a couple of years ago and have been to the Dali museum in Tampa (yes, Tampa -- go figure).
Penn Jillette's in show business, so I really don't see him as selling out. Look upon his appearance as sort of a post-modern Dadaist performance piece. His agent really should have gotten Penn and Teller cast on "Celebrity Apprentice." Now that would be fun to watch.
Excuse me, but you've all lost sight of the topic: Norman Siegel.
I was one of hundreds that attended the fundraiser and it was packed. Supporters were enthusiastic and the speeches (although they ran very, very long) captured the spirit of Mr. Spiegel's work and campaign.
We need more lawyers like Mr. Siegel. He IS the people's advocate.
Norman, I have to agree. I thought there were too many speakers and the speaches went on too too long. You and your guests went on for over an hour and for the many seniors that were standing that wasn't very thoughtful.
You also did not have enough food. The restaurant never replenished the "buffet," which was sparse to begin with -- tomato and mozzarell and some other cheese and crackers. So many people I spoke to left your event unsatisfied and I mean that in alot of different ways.
Next time focus less on you and more on us. Thank you.

Isn't it too soon to tell?
I mean, after all, you've already got Scott Stringer, Eric Goia, John Liu and a host of others eyeing the slot.
I would think that Siegel is at the bottom of that list. And in my opinion, least desirous.

Now is a good time to abolish this position. It serves no useful purpose except possibly as a patronage mill.

Gines has just described virtually every political job I know, including judgeships!
Assuming the position is not abolished prior to 2009, is there anyone you like?

As I travel throughout the five boroughs, attending various functions and events, I'm finding that people are NOT excited about the Citywide offices.
Everyone's focus is on the Presidency.
Onward!

I don't believe Jillette sold out! (What's this world coming to?)
By the way, if you're truly a Dali fan, you would enjoy his museum near Barcelona, Spain. Have you been?

Put Barcelona and the museum in Figueres, Spain on your "must see" list.
As for Jillette, they should have had him dancing with Teller. Now that would have been a show!

Barcelona is on my list. Thank you Lucas.

Ferrara, I've got a list too and I'm putting you on it .... It's called my [DELETED] list.
Gines, don't go. Barcelona is for [DELETED].
